Queensland Rail's Sunlander and long distance Tilt Train run regularly from Brisbane to Cairns, and both international and domestic flights land at Cairns International Airport.

You can also drive almost 1700km from Brisbane to Cairns which takes approximately 24 hours - with no stopovers and several changes of driver. A more leisurely drive over three or more days is recommended. Rockhampton is a popular stopover for a 3 day trip, before embarking on the long stretch from Rockhampton to Mackay on the second day.

There are also a range of coach tours that provide more opportunity to see the many attractions along the way.
